discover: Reimplement native-parser as a Bison parser Occasionally you look at some code and realise that a) this never gets built, and b) even if it did it would never compile. Today's example is native-parser.c which we must have just assumed worked for quite a while. The native parser has bitrotted entirely and needs to be brought up to date. While we're here, lets take the chance to implement a proper grammar for it. This helps us reason more effectively about the parser, lets us extend it easily in the future, and.. I wanted to write a Bison parser too. This implements most of the old functionality, but drops off some smaller details like settings icons which needs some separate attention to bring up to date. ui/ncurses: Safely handle lost terminal control commands Normally terminal control commands are caught and handled before ncurses or Petitboot could see them. However several combinations of broken terminal emulators or console connections can cause these command sequences to be seen by Petitboot, usually resulting in Petitboot exiting due to the ESC character and then the rest printed to the console. Aside from confusing the user this can also cancel autoboot, so it's important we don't let these sequences go unnoticed if possible. In ui/ncurses/console-codes we add a state machine that recognises the syntax of these control/escape sequences and handles the lost characters. We don't try to emulate the functionality of these commands, instead just logging them for reference. Signed-off-by: Samuel Mendoza-Jonas <sam@mendozajonas.com>
autotools: Use non-recursive make With the current testing infrastructure, we don't have a strictly hierarchical set of dependencies. This causes problems with a recursive make, and means we have to hack around some of the dependencies. This change generates a single, top-level makefile from all of the Makefile.am fragments. We still need the po/ directory as a separate SUBDIR, but all others can be converted to non-recursive. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Kerr <jk@ozlabs.org>

autotools: Make petitboot autoreconfable The standard way to regenerate the autotools bits is with 'autoreconf', but that doesn't work with our custom bootstrap script. We only need the bootstrap script to generate the version in configure.ac, which we can easily do with m4_esyscmd_s instead. This change allows autoreconfiguration with `autoreconf -f -i`. autotools: Don't require custom automake options We need a couple of automake options to prevent errors when regenerating Makefile.ins during source preparation. Some makefiles assume GNU make, so add 'foreign' where necessary. Also, we are building objects in subdirectories, so we need 'subdir-objects'.
